Intern Program FAQs
How do I apply?
There are two steps to apply for LI's intern program. (1) Complete a ConservativeJobs.com new job seeker profile. You must fill it out completely to be considered. You can submit your resume and writing sample through the site. (2) Attend a Youth Leadership School, LI's flagship training program.
Do I have to take the Youth Leadership School before I apply for the internship?
Yes. The Youth Leadership School (YLS) is an important part of the application process. LI interns are top graduates of a YLS. Your application cannot be considered until you have attended a YLS. To find a training near you, check out the LI training schedule.
Can I promise to take a YLS as soon as possible and still be considered?
No. In order for your application to be complete, you must have already taken a YLS.
Where do I send my resume and writing sample?
You can either upload these documents to your ConservativeJobs.com profile or send them directly to Eliza Thurston, intern coordinator.
What do you look for in a writing sample?
Your writing sample should be four to five pages in length and, preferably, related to your conservative values. It can be a paper you've submitted for a class, a collection of articles, or a piece you write specifically for this application. Just make sure it is a strong example of your writing ability.
