Steven Sutton is Vice President of Development and Campus Programs at the Leadership Institute.

Prior to joining the Institute, Steven served as a Chief of Staff on Capitol Hill for over fourteen years.  While there, he became something of a start-up specialist, as he set-up Congressional offices for four different incoming freshman Congressmen from across the country: Peter Torkilson of the North Shore of Massachusetts, Frank Riggs from California’s Napa Valley, Lee Terry from Omaha, Nebraska, and John Kline from just south of Minnesota’s Twin Cities. As Chief of Staff, Steven set-up their offices, hired their staff and managed and directed the operations of their Washington and district offices. In his free time, he helped re-elect them by directing their campaign strategies, messages, and voter contact programs.

In addition to these jobs, he has managed numerous political campaigns from city council to US Congress, specializing in challenger campaigns. Steven is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
